H.E. Vahagn Afyan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of India, met with Prof. Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, the Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, India.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed centuries-old Armenian-Indian friendship and the rich historical and cultural heritage of the two peoples. In particular, the importance of the Armenian presence and the preserved historiographical values of Armenians in the cities of Chennai (formerly: Madras) and Kolkata in the context of the dynamically developing friendly relations between the two countries was emphasized.

Ambassador V. Afyan underscored the importance of deepening educational and academic cooperation, stressing the implementation of joint programs and initiatives between universities and educational institutions. The interlocutors exchanged views on opportunities for the sectoral partnership.
